Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 Introducing Voice Unlock Feature

Gadgetpak – Lenovo launches IdeaPhone A586 by introducing a new method to unlock. Features voice unlock is the first method is used for Android smartphones.

Android smartphones usually use the string method, gesture, and the password to unlock. But a new method used by Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 with Speaker Verification brought the technology from the A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) and developed by Baidu-I2R Research Centre (BIRC).

“Lenovo A586′s adoption of the Speaker Verification technology that is developed through our joint effort with Baidu demonstrates I2R’s commitment to translate their expertise in speech and language technologies into products that benefits consumers and the industry. It is indeed encouraging that an A*STAR-developed technology is being deployed in China, the largest and world’s fastest growing smartphone market,” said Dr. Tan Geok Leng, Executive Director of I²R.

Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 powered 4.5-inch display with 865×480 resolution, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 5MP camera and 4GB internal memory. IdeaPhone A586 has been available in China by major telecommunications providers and online shops.
